Ok, my turn…it was really hard to narrow it down to just five; but, here’s what I came up with…

1. Dope & Drakkar ’1100′ ; $385 now $ 135:  ”Have you ever seen (or owned for that matter) a pair of vintage Levi 501s that were just broken in to perfection? They had whiskering in all the right places, the wash was a perfect shade of blue, and you knew that they were the real deal. This jean is a very close second… and I mean verrrry close…”

2. Stussy Deluxe ‘Shadwell’ shirt; $129: “Of the many camp shirts that we have in the store this piece really just does it for me! The bright yellow plaid brings to mind bbqs at the park and puts a smile on my face.”

3. Nicholas K ‘Forster’ trench; $498, now $298: “Great summer jacket with stellar details; and the surplus green color makes it super versatile with shorts, jeans, and chinos…”

4. property of…’Lucas Trip’ bag; $235 now $139: “I seriously have a crush on this bag!!! It’s simply perfect: the size, the color, the shape…what else can I say?”

Aaand for the ladies…

5. Bailey 44 ‘Marriage Market’ dress; $179 now $125 SOLD OUT: Everyone who’s tried this piece on looks amazing! For a simple tank dress, it gives you a lot of bang for your buck!”

This is me. I write things on the blog. If it’s corny sometimes…c’mon man, it’s a blog…I do the best I can. I like to meet new people (but I also love and appreciate the regular customers!) so drop by the store and let’s chat!

FEATURED DESIGNERS: MIXIE, WISH
Posted by IAN SHOP @ May 26, 2009 4:12 pm

Ladies, the sunshine is finally here—but what’s missing? A pretty summer dress in your wardrobe to go with it! We are loving Mixie right now and you will too. Their dresses have the best of both worlds: vintage prints (punchy colors, bold patterns) with a modern fit (easy and super flattering). The buttery soft jersey and cottons are truly wearable this season.

Going out tonight? We have the perfect tops and dresses by Wish. They’re glam, a bit rocker, and will get well-deserved attention! Wish is made in Australia, and its founder, Annette, strives to create the hottest fashion pieces at affordable prices.

Wish ‘Shayla’ Dress in Turquoise; $130

We catch her drift: the Shayla dress (above), a button-down romper, is the IT look for summer. What’s better: the amazing construction really outshines the price. You must try!

SUMMER TREND: STRIPES

Posted by IAN SHOP @ May 20, 2009 3:09 pm

Going into summer, it’s usually a time where we break out our basic pieces: shorts, polos, chinos, t-shirts, and button downs; mainly out of neccessity because of their simplicity. However, it doesn’t mean that you can’t get a little creative by adding a touch of color or pattern to your outfits. One easy way is experimenting with stripes. This season you will see alot of variety from the big bold nautical-inspired fare to subtle pinstripe styles.

From top: Nicholas K ‘Cooper’ shirt; $198 now $139; Nicholas K ‘Judas’ shirt: $189 now $132; Orthodox ‘Hawthorne’ shirt; $155 now $98

L to R: Stussy Bold stripe polo; $55; Stussy ‘Pale’ polo; $52; RVCA ‘Samurai’ polo; $55

Try pairing a black and white stripe polo with a shot of color underneath; or, if you feel adventurous, mix patterns such as a stripe tee under a plaid camp shirt. The trick is making sure that with a bigger pattern you compliment it with a smaller, more subdued one….

Top: Stussy Deluxe ‘Shadwell’ shirt; $129 and ‘Harrow Stripe’ shirt; $49
Bottom: Stussy Deluxe ‘Paddington’ shirt; $159 and Cheap Monday ‘Axel’ tee; $30 now $19

YANN NOVAK: ‘RELOCATION’ EXHIBIT AT THE LAWRIMORE PROJECT
Filed under: UNCATEGORIZED
Posted by IAN SHOP @ 3:40 pm

Artist/Musician (and friend of ian) Yann Novak has opened a new exhibit this week at the Lawrimore Project

Named ‘Relocation’ the piece examines the experience of moving your life from one place to another. For example there’s a room where he recorded the sounds of the  empty loft space where he lived for 4 years on his last night in Seattle; and, there’s another space where he recorded two 4-minute recordings of rest stops between Seattle and Los Angeles mixed with a slideshow of pictures from the journey (above).

We truly have a soft spot for Yann because he was responsible for creating our website! So if you have time this weekend go to the Lawrimore Project space and check out this unique exhibit!
