What a year!
We all have been faced with many challenges and have managed to weather the bulk of the storm that 2008 has brought us. Being the optimist that I am, I believe that 2009 will bring many good things…speaking of which, I am excited to announce that we will be carrying the new capsule line from GStar, Correct Line. 

The collection will consist of tailored blazers, slim fitting shirts and jackets, slightly steering away from the usual denim fare that they offer yet still able to compliment them. Check out the December issue of DETAILS or go to g-star.com to read more about it; and, definitely keep posted here when we announce its arrival! Also new pieces of GStar ORIGINALS have arrived already in the past week: some new track jackets, denim and a couple more wool coats* for both men and women…

*meaning that you need to come here quickly because they will sell out!

-Adopt a pet.

-Be nice to the religious.
-Be nice to the secular progessives.
-SHEESH! Be nice in general.
-Tell your family and friends that you love them.
-Mean it.
-Bring back mistletoe, please!
-and most important, remember to have an AMAZING holiday!!!!

Many who shop at the downtown location know that I’m sort of a denim addict. I love all things denim. So much to the point that sometimes I get to assist Scott and Cerise with the denim buys. One line that I’m extremely excited that we have in is Dope & Drakkar from Japan.

Created by Eiichiro Sakata ( another self-professed ‘denim addict’), Dope & Drakkar (or “Dopes” as they’re called by their fans) are made from the best organic cotton cultivated right here in the states  and dyed with the finest indigo they can find.  The denim is made from  looms and sewing machines from 1960′s-1980′s; which take a little bit longer but creates some of the most amazingly soft selvege denim you can find…

Dope & Drakkar ’1210′ in Rinse; $330 Their basic straight leg. Don’t let the dark wash deter you. The organic cotton makes them super soft… 

Dope &Drakkar ’1100′ in SLP; $385 My favorite of the two. This one is more of a vintage fit and rinsed down to a beautiful blue fade…

The pictures don’t do the denim justice. They are so well crafted and  I do hope that you come in to check them out!!!

*Fun (?) fact: Eiichiro used the name ‘Dope & Drakkar’  (or to translate “drug addict”) to express the addictive nature of his clothing which he likens to drugs.
